Chinese Language Tuition was set up by Dr. Yu Hong Zhang to develop China related projects on medicine, language, education and tourism. C4Culture already offers the following and is continuously developing new products and services:
- Courses on Chinese medicine
- Study trips to China
- Chinese language workshops
- Translation/interpretation
- Setting up educational exchanges
- Consultancy work for businesses
Dr. Zhang studied western and TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) in the 1970s and practised as a paediatrician in a hospital for children.
She later obtained a BA followed by an MA in English language and literature. Between her degrees, she taught English at university to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
In 1989 Dr. Zhang came to the UK as a research student and has been working since 1992 in management positions in the fields of Chinese medicine and education. She studied with the Open University while in full time employment and was awarded a certificate and a diploma in business management.
Dr. Zhang is a supervisor since 1998 for Leeds University Medical School and has developed and taught various modules on TCM and Chinese culture. As the Course Director of a TCM College for two years, she developed courses on a range of topics including language workshops and study trips to China.
An enthusiast in food, cooking and health promotion, Dr. Zhang also lectures on food therapy and teaches therapeutic Tai Chi.
